Testing of the new laser mining technology has been coordinated with the assistance of IPG Photonics and will use the IPG Photonics 4KW laser hosted at Mines. With the help of the Mines team, our engineering team will test our newly designed unit which is configured so that a variety of special directional laser pointer devices and their inherent custom software control are interchangeable for use in various mining operations. The tests will evaluate the ability to cut, fracture and chip various samples of geological materials. The patent pending technology is designed for use in mining operations such as blasting facility preparation, rock bolting operations, drift drilling, expansion raises, excavations and stope extraction.
Testing at the Colorado School of Mines is a major step forward for Sidney Resources in its pursuit of technology that will provide tremendous value not only to Sidney Resources itself, but to the mining industry as a whole with the ability to be deployed in multiple vertical.
